MeRT® uses a personalized EEG to map each patient’s unique brain pattern, then guides gentle magnetic stimulation to areas where activity is out of sync. It’s a different way of thinking about neurological and mental health care, focused on brain patterns rather than brain chemistry alone.

Dr. Jennifer Wood is a physician board-certified in Child, Adolescent, and Adult Psychiatry with more than 20 years of clinical experience. A true Michigan native, she was educated at the University of Michigan, completed residency training at Michigan State University, and fellowship training at Wayne State University.
Dr. Wood has extensive experience with a wide range of mental health conditions, with a strong clinical interest in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), women’s health issues, and trauma. She also has an interest in managing patients with complex medical problems, including mental health difficulties arising from COVID-19.
As the psychiatrist for Brain Treatment Center Michigan, Dr. Wood provides psychiatric clearance and guidance in neuromodulation treatment, approaching each patient from a broad perspective that integrates mental health with physical health and well-being.

MeRT is a self-pay treatment. FDA-cleared rTMS, on which MeRT is based, may be covered by some insurance plans, including TRICARE, for eligible patients with depression. Our care team can help verify coverage.
