If you're still not yourself after a workplace injury — your brain may still be healing

Traumatic brain injury and concussion from a workplace accident don't always resolve on their own. Many people experience persistent symptoms weeks, months, or even years after the injury — symptoms that standard neurological care attributes to "post-concussive syndrome" without offering a clear treatment path.

MeRT takes a different approach: it starts by mapping the current state of your brainwave activity to identify exactly where communication has been disrupted, then builds a treatment protocol to address those specific patterns.

Why symptoms persist after a workplace injury — and what MeRT does about it

After a work-related head injury, the brain's neural networks often develop patterns of dysregulation that don't self-correct. A qEEG brain map can identify these patterns precisely — showing where brainwave activity is abnormal, where coherence has been disrupted, and what frequency range the brain is struggling to maintain.

MeRT uses that data to deliver magnetic stimulation precisely tuned to your brain's needs — encouraging the neural networks affected by the injury to re-establish healthier communication patterns. It's a protocol built around how your brain is actually functioning right now.

The rTMS equipment used in MeRT is FDA-cleared for depression and OCD. Use for TBI-related neurological symptoms is considered off-label, following a full evaluation — standard health insurance coverage for the treatment itself is not typical, though your Workers' Compensation claim may apply (see below).

Workers' Compensation may cover your treatment

If your TBI, concussion, or cognitive symptoms resulted from a workplace accident, your employer's Workers' Compensation insurance may cover MeRT treatment, pending the carrier's written commitment to pay. We verify your claim status before your first appointment.

How the Workers' Comp billing process works

Brain Treatment Center Michigan handles Workers' Comp billing directly. Here's what to expect:

1
Contact us with your Workers' Comp claim information. We verify eligibility and carrier approval before your first appointment.
2
We document your neurological symptoms and their connection to the workplace injury — essential for carrier authorization.
3
We submit billing directly to the Workers' Comp carrier, pending their written commitment to pay. You focus on treatment; we handle the paperwork.
4
If an attorney or claims representative is involved in your case, we can coordinate documentation to support your claim.

Four steps. Six weeks. Built around your brain's current state.

1

Consultation and evaluation

Your first visit includes a full consultation with our physician team. We review your workplace injury history, current symptoms, imaging records if available, and determine whether MeRT is appropriate for your situation.

2

qEEG brain mapping

A comfortable EEG cap records your brainwave activity — no needles, no discomfort. The data shows us exactly where your brain's communication patterns have been disrupted by the injury.

3

Daily treatment sessions

Monday through Friday for approximately six weeks. Sessions are 30–45 minutes. The EEG is repeated at weeks two, four, and six so the protocol adjusts as your brain responds.

4

Results review

At the end of treatment, you review your before-and-after EEG data with the physician team — seeing exactly how your brainwave patterns changed over the course of treatment.
