Real Patient Story — Autism

Six weeks of treatment.
Watch Willa's results.

After completing MeRT® at Brain Treatment Center Michigan, Willa's family sat down with Dr. Ramona Wallace to review what changed — and why.

"Every brain is different. That's exactly why we start with a detailed EEG — so the treatment we design is built around your child's brain, not a standard protocol."

— Dr. Ramona Wallace, DO · Medical Director, Brain Treatment Center Michigan

Treatment that starts with your child's actual brainwaves

MeRT (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) is an advanced, personalized form of repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS). Unlike standard TMS therapy — which uses the same protocol for every patient — MeRT begins with a detailed qEEG brain map.

That map tells us exactly how your child's brain is communicating — where activity is normal, where it's dysregulated, and what frequency we should use to encourage healthier patterns. Treatment is then built around those findings, not a one-size-fits-all approach.

It's non-invasive, drug-free, and typically completed over six weeks.

1

Brain mapping (qEEG)

A comfortable EEG cap records your child's brainwave activity. No needles, no discomfort — just data about how their brain is currently functioning.

2

Physician review and personalized protocol

Dr. Wallace reviews the EEG findings and designs a treatment protocol specific to your child's brainwave patterns — frequency, location, and timing.

3

Treatment and ongoing monitoring

Daily in-office sessions, Monday through Friday. The EEG is repeated at weeks two, four, and six so the protocol adjusts as your child's brain responds.

4

Results review with Dr. Wallace

At the end of treatment, you meet with Dr. Wallace to review your child's EEG changes side by side and discuss what comes next.

Every treatment plan is reviewed and overseen by Dr. Wallace

Brain Treatment Center Michigan is physician-led — not technician-run. Dr. Ramona Wallace, DO reviews every patient's EEG findings, approves every treatment protocol, and personally conducts the results appointments you see in these videos.
