I’m back! I was depressed, mean, and short-tempered. I pushed through life filled with frustration and a deep sense of sadness that this was it. I just had to keep pushing through life with an overwhelming tiredness. I’m so glad I was wrong. I think my family are even more thankful. This treatment changed everything, and I am forever thankful.” – MeRT Patient

- Loss of interest in activities and relationships
- Feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness
- Loss of sex drive
- Insomnia, or sleeping too much
- Emotional outbursts, even over insignificant matters
- Chronic mental and/or physical exhaustion
- Changes in appetite
- Increased anxiety
- Agitation or restlessness
- Feelings of worthlessness
- Low self-esteem
- Short-term memory loss
- Inability to think straight
- Fixating or ruminating on failures or past events
- Physical symptoms such as back pain, neck pain, or headaches with no known cause
- Chronic feelings of unhappiness
- Feeling “numb”
- Feelings of isolation
- Thoughts of suicide
- Attempts at suicide, or death by suicide
Depression can be a serious illness. In fact, suicide is the tenth leading cause of death in the U.S. and has been on the rise for teens and adults. Up to 7.4% of teens between grades 9-12 reported that they have attempted suicide at least once in the last twelve months!

offer the MeRT treatment protocols to help patients who have been suffering with Depression and Major Depressive Disorder.
“MeRT has been used successfully to treat Depression, particularly when medications have not helped, or caused side-effects which are not easily tolerated.” – Dr. Spencer Miller
MeRT is a treatment process that utilizes TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) but it is a much more individualized approach than TMS. TMS has been used for a long time to treat dysregulation within the brain, however in and of itself, it is more of a one-size-fits-all approach to treatment since it is only able to target a single location in the brain with a single frequency, regardless of condition.
MeRT is a unique and much improved process of utilizing TMS. By using a quantitative EEG/EKG to determine exactly what part of the brain is affected and to what degree, we are able to tailor treatment specifically to each individual’s needs.
Everything changed when I started treatment. Within two weeks I was sleeping better. I was off all 12 of my meds that I was on when I started treatment, and I was starting to enjoy life again. After the first month I was socializing with people again, I was able to work out for the first time in years, and I started to help my wife with the bills and our budget. A conservative estimate is that I have had a 60 – 70% reduction of the symptoms and have a whole new lease on life. I can focus. I feel good about myself. I feel confident. I laugh again. Most importantly, I can feel the love for and from my family again. I have never met a group of people who truly are solely focused on helping people feel human again. Spend a day here and you will see a miracle.” — MeRT Patient
Do You Have Questions About How MeRT Can Help You With Your Depression?
Call us and speak to our new patient coordinator. She can get all of your questions answered, and get you booked for a consultation with Dr. Miller.
What is MeRT?
MeRT, which is guided by very sophisticated EEG imaging, uses a magnetic coil to gently stimulate and balance function of the brain.
The patient first undergoes a qEEG (quantitative EEG) to identify dysregulation occurring in the brain. The results will show the brain’s brainwave pattern and function. This detailed analysis allows Dr. Miller to determine the exact neural-synchronization protocol that will be used for each patient with the objective of encouraging improved communication within the brain which can lead to significant clinical improvements. *
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is an FDA-cleared method of treating Depression. TMS modulates the brain’s activity by using magnetic fields which pass through the scalp from an electromagnetic coil. However, TMS is more of a one-size-fits-all approach because it only targets a single location in the brain with a single frequency.
The MeRT treatment that we use to treat patients utilizes TMS, however it is a greatly improved process since the treatment is individualized based on each patient’s condition and needs based on the qEEG results. Frequency, location, and power used is customized for each individual.
MeRT is a more evolved version of TMS since its protocol combines technologies of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG), and Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) which allows for treatment protocol based on each person’s unique brain pattern.
MeRT for Depression is usually 4-6 weeks long. Since it is a type of therapy, appointments are every day, Monday through Friday, and usually last approximately 30-minutes. Usually the patient will begin to notice improvements in the way they feel during the first week. After going through treatment, there is usually not a need for any follow up treatment for Depression.

If you think you might be interested in exploring MeRT, you don’t have to decide anything right away. There are many steps in determining if MeRT is the Right Treatment for You.
We understand that considering a treatment that you don’t know that much about can be daunting and you may feel quite uncertain about whether this is right for you. So the first easy step is to start with a simple phone consultation with our New Patient Coordinator. Here you can discuss your symptoms and history, ask all the questions you want and have her explain the protocols, fees and details of Treatment.
If after this you are interested taking the next step in seeing if MeRT treatment is right for you, we will initially schedule two appointments, both of which are about 45 minutes in length. At the first appointment, our neuro-technician will perform a EEG and an EKG. Both are simple, painless and non-invasive tests to see exactly what is happening in your brain. At the second appointment, a few days later when your test results are in and have been analyzed, you will have a one on one consultation with the doctor. Here you will discuss your test results, ask any additional questions that you may have, and together determine if you (or your child, if this is about your child) are a candidate for treatment.
If you are uncertain whether MeRT is the right treatment for you, the testing and consultation will allow both you and the doctor to decide if you may benefit from Magnetic Resonance Therapy.
If you and the doctor decide to move forward with MeRT, the next step is what we call the Assessment Period, where we will perform a initial period of treatment, followed by a new EEG to see if you are responding to the treatment.
During this assessment, we are looking for any clinical changes and confirm that you are having a positive response to the treatment. You (or your child) will likely notice improvements starting to take place. At the end of the assessment period, we will perform another qEEG/EKG to confirm that changes are also showing in the brain. This is assessed based on the new EEG results as compared to the initial one done before treatment started, as well as symptom improvements.
Take the 1st Step in Finding out if You might Benefit
Our New Patient Coordinator is here for you. She will take the time to listen to your concerns and carefully explain all of the details and information you need. She can answer any questions that you may have. If, after this, you would like to schedule a Consultation with the Doctor, she can get you scheduled.

Starting as a New Patient and What to Expect When Going Through Treatment
Initially, we will schedule two appointments for new patients. During the first appointment, our neuro-technician, Angie, will perform a qEEG/EKG. This is a painless procedure and all that’s required from the patient is sitting in a chair with their eyes closed until the test is completed and enough data is gathered to compose an accurate reading.
Your second appointment will serve as your clinical evaluation from Dr. Miller. He will have your test results and can go over treatment protocols along with answering any questions you may have.
If you are uncertain whether MeRT is the right treatment for you, the testing and consultation will allow both you and the doctor to decide if you may benefit from Magnetic Resonance Therapy.
Should you decide to proceed with treatment, we will get you scheduled for your 2-week assessment of treatment. The assessment period includes treatment every day, Monday through Friday, for the first week, and treatment every day, Monday through Thursday for the second week.
During this 2-week assessment, we are looking for any clinical changes and confirm that you are having a positive response to the treatment. You (or your child) will likely notice some improvements starting to take place. On the second Friday of the assessment, we will perform another qEEG/EKG to confirm that changes are also showing in the brain.
Daily treatment consists of the patient sitting in a chair while the neuro-technician administers treatment from a hand-held magnet that is held on the scalp. This is a painless and non-invasive treatment. Magnetic impulses are administered every 6-8 seconds each minute for about 30-minutes. You may feel a slight sensation while the treatment is being administered, however it is not uncomfortable or painful.
After going through the 2-week assessment period, MeRT is usually continued for an additional 2 – 4 weeks (for a total of 4 – 6 weeks total). There are cases where treatment duration may wish to be extended, or where patients may want to return at a later time for a follow-up treatment session of a week or so, but this isn’t mandatory. Each individual is different, and protocols may vary. During your total treatment duration, you will have interim EEGs every 2-weeks and at the end of your treatment to monitor your progress. Once treatment is over, you and Dr. Miller can make the determination if further duration of treatment or follow-up is needed based on your progress.
*The Results shown are based on active and strict observation of our regimens. Results may vary based on individual user and are not guaranteed.
Life Can Be Better
There is hope with this entirely new approach to treatment of Depression and Major Depressive Disorder. It could make all of the difference in your quality of life and livelihood.
Insurance Coverage
We are happy to provide you with the appropriate paperwork at the end of your treatment so that you can submit it to your insurance company to see if they can provide you with any reimbursement, but we are not able to accept it for treatment nor do we file it for you. In some cases it is possible to get reimbursement for certain conditions. Please note that neither Medicare or Medicaid provide any coverage for MeRT treatment. Currently, rTMS (the treatment used in the MeRT process) is FDA-cleared for treatment for Depression and OCD (Obsessive/Compulsive Disorder).
