EEG-guided MeRT® (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) uses advanced brain mapping to personalize treatment for depression.
When standard treatments don’t work, it’s often because depression looks different in every brain—and most treatments don’t account for that.
By identifying your brain’s unique patterns, we create a treatment plan tailored to you.

MeRT® (Magnetic e-Resonance Therapy) begins with detailed EEG brain mapping.
We analyze your unique brainwave patterns to understand how depression may be disrupting areas related to motivation, sleep, mood, and emotional regulation
Treatment is typically delivered over 4–6 weeks, depending on your needs.
MeRT can be safely combined with therapy and other forms of mental health care.
Dr. Ramona Wallace is a board-certified family medicine physician and the Medical Director of Brain Treatment Michigan.
In this video, she shares the story of a mother who refused to give up on her child after years of severe depression, multiple hospitalizations, and treatments that weren’t working.
Dr. Wallace explains how MeRT addresses what other treatments often miss: the underlying brainwave disruptions that keep the brain locked in cycles of rumination, poor sleep, and emotional withdrawal—and why a personalized approach makes all the difference.
The results she describes were profound. Within two weeks, a teenager who hadn’t smiled in six years was smiling again, re-engaging with family and sleeping better. For a mother who had nearly run out of options, Dr. Wallace’s message is simple: don’t give up.
Speak with our New Patient Coordinator to review your history, current symptoms, and treatment goals. We’ll answer your questions, explain how MeRT works, and determine whether a comprehensive evaluation is appropriate.
We perform detailed quantitative EEG (qEEG) and EKG testing to evaluate your brainwave patterns and autonomic function. This allows us to identify areas that may be stuck in heightened stress response or not communicating efficiently. The data from this assessment guides your individualized treatment plan.
Using your EEG data, we customize the stimulation location, frequency, and intensity of your treatment. This is not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Every plan is built around how yourbrain is functioning.
You receive gentle, noninvasive magnetic stimulation in a comfortable outpatient setting. Sessions are brief and well-tolerated. Many patients report improvements in sleep, emotional regulation, and overall calm as treatment progresses.
