MeRT® begins with detailed EEG brain mapping.
We look at your child’s unique brainwave patterns because no two children are the same.
From there, we create a personalized treatment protocol using gentle magnetic stimulation tailored to your child’s brain.
We typically deliver treatment over 4–6 weeks, depending on your child’s needs.
MeRT can be safely combined with other therapies, including ABA.
Dr. Ramona Wallace is a board-certified family medicine physician and the Medical Director of Brain Treatment Michigan.
In this video, she explains how EEG brain mapping helps identify patterns commonly seen in children with autism, particularly underdeveloped alpha brainwave activity.
She discusses how targeted MeRT stimulation is designed to support those patterns and what families have reported early in treatment, including improved eye contact, better sleep, and stronger responses to therapy.
Call our New Patient Coordinator to discuss your child’s history, current challenges, and goals. She'll answer your questions, explain our treatment protocols, and determine whether an evaluation is appropriate.
We perform detailed quantitative EEG and EKG testing to understand your child’s brainwave patterns, including areas that may be underactive or not communicating efficiently. This data guides the entire treatment plan.
Using your child’s EEG data, we customize the stimulation location, frequency, and intensity of the rTMS treatment. This is not a one-size-fits-all protocol. Treatment is tailored specifically to your child.
Your child receives gentle, noninvasive magnetic stimulation in a comfortable outpatient setting. Parents may remain present during sessions. Many families report noticing changes early in treatment.
If you’re ready to explore whether EEG-guided MeRT may be appropriate, speak directly with our New Patient Coordinator or complete the form above. Our New Patient Coordinator can also explain evaluation details, scheduling, and current self-pay options.
